Research group in theory, synthesis and characterization of new materials
OUR WORK

Our research group is dedicated to investigating the electronic, optical, structural, and vibrational properties of novel materials, with a primary focus on two-dimensional systems (such as graphene, emerging graphene allotropes, and transition metal dichalcogenides), combining both theoretical and experimental approaches.

We also develop and apply scientific instrumentation for the synthesis and characterization of these nanomaterials, as well as instrumentation for educational purposes.

These efforts are essential for advancing applications in next-generation nanoelectronic devices, offering promising pathways to rescale semiconductor technologies down to atomic thicknesses while achieving high-speed performance.

RESEARCH
TEAM

Our research group brings together researchers, technical staff, and students from diverse academic backgrounds, fostering an environment conducive to multidisciplinary research.

We also maintain ongoing projects in collaboration with external researchers and colleagues from other departments at UFLA, positioning our group at the institutional, national, and international levels.
